Xiaomi 'Blackshark' Snapdragon 845 SoC powered Gaming Phone with 8GB RAM Leaked

The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is known for its budget phones. However, as per recent leaks and media reports, the mass popular smartphone maker is secretly developing a gaming phone codenamed Blackshark. The news first surfaced on the benchmarking site AnTuTu. A leaked performance report about the gaming phone on Geekbench has further confirmed the rumors.

The phone has received 2452 single-core scores and 8452 multi-core scores on the Geekbench app version 4.2.2.

As per the leaks, the Xiaomi phone is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM and runs on the Geekbench listing shows that the dubious Xiaomi phone runs Android 8.0. The phone will come with 32GB of inbuilt storage. The full-HD+ screen will have a pixel density of 1080 x 2160 with an 18:9 aspect ratio. On the AnTuTu benchmark, the smartphone cloaked a score of 270,680.

There is still a veil of uncertainty on the launch date. In all likelihood, the handset will be launched by Black Shark sometime later this year. Xiaomi is a primary investor in Black Shark, a mobile gaming company. The leaks lack any information that could absolutely confirm the gaming prowess of the dubious phone. However, the presence of the Snapdragon 845 SoC is a strong indicator of a premium offering on the cards. The latest Snapdragon SoC will supposedly make its debut on March 27 with the launch of Mi MIX 2S.
