The feature phones have a strong market share in the smartphone industry in the Indian market. Just by launching the Reliance Jio phone in India, the Reliance Industries Ltd captured strong market share in feature phones and keypad phones segment. So, looking the success story of Reliance Jio, now Xiaomi has also entered into the feature phone category by launching the Qin Ai smart feature phone in the China market.
Xiaomi Qin AI feature phone is available for purchase in the China market at a price tag of CNY 199 (approximately Rs 2000) from Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform. It is anticipated that the deliveries of Xiaomi feature phone will start from 15th September.
As of now, it is not confirmed whether Xiaomi would launch the Qin AI feature phone in India or not still there are possibilities that Xiaomi may launch it in the Indian market.
But once Qin AI feature phone gets launched by Xiaomi in India than the Chinese smartphone maker would have to face competition from Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2 alike.
Until and unless the Chinese tech giant wouldn't make the announcement of Qin AI feature phone in India, it is better that we should not make any expectations.
Xiaomi Qin Ai comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA display along with physical T9 keypad buttons. Qin Ai feature phone does not have cameras that the Reliance Jio offered in its JioPhone. The feature phone runs on the customized version of Operating System which Xiaomi termed as the Mocor 5 OS.
It is bundled with AI features for real-time voice translation with the support of 17 languages.
Further, it allows the users to find the answers to any queries and as well narrate poem to children and bedtime stories. Though the feature phone runs on the customized version of the Android OS, the users can install renowned WhatsApp and Facebook in Xiaomi Qin Ai feature phone.
In terms of hardware, the Qin Ai is equipped with SC9820E ARM Cortex A53 dual-core processor. The Xiaomi feature phone comes with 256MB RAM and 512MB internal storage with the support of micro SD slot. The feature supports hybrid dual sim under which the users can place either two sim cards or one sim card/ one memory card simultaneously.
The most interesting part is that Xiaomi Qin Ai comes with a USB Type-C port which is generally not available in the feature phones. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1,480mAh battery which can be rated to deliver 15 hours of talk time and up to 420 hours of standby time.
The Xiaomi Qin Ai has bundled with an infrared (IR) sensor which allows the users to operate home appliances such as Televisions, Air Conditioner (AC) and more.
The Xiaomi Qin Ai feature phone supports dual- sim, 4G VoLTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port.
