Xiaomi is the fourth largest smartphone maker globally which is known for its Mi and Redmi series of mobiles. The company has also tried to bring new smartphone lineup- Poco F1 and BlackShark gaming phone which is different from what Xiaomi mostly offers in its product line-up. Now a rumour is going viral from China that the company might add another product line-up.
As per the reports, the upcoming smartphone of Xiaomi line-up will called as “Xiaomi Play” and will be launched at an event which will be between December 17 and December 26, 2018. The new line-up might be the Christmas gift from the company to the customers but it has not been disclosed yet.
The name suggests that it will be a gaming mobile. But already BlackShark sells game oriented mobiles and even the Poco F1 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 too works good for gaming. It has not been made clear till now whether the Play series will be different from its existing performance smartphones.
Xiaomi has not yet disclosed the specifications or prices of the new line-up. As per the rumours, it might be a gaming-centric smartphone and it might also want to compete the Huawei Honor because Honor has a Play series of smartphones.
We have to wait till the company gives any detail of the smartphone. It might also be possible that the Xiaomi is expanding the line-up because there is a craze among the customers of the game-centric smartphones. The line-up includes- Poco F1 which costs RMB 1,999 (Approx Rs 20,000) and the BlackShark Helo which costs RMB 3,199 (approx Rs 32,000).
