ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini Decked with Top-tier Specs Announced for China

Finally, ZTE has pulled the veils from much-awaited smartphones of its Nubia family during the expected press event of March 26, where Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini have made their first glance. Taking a quick plunge into previous reports, Nubia Z9 with 5.2-inch screen and Z9 Max with 5.5-inch display had been rumored to debut on the 26th of March, but now tech giant has surprised the world by bringing a whole new handset: Nubia Z9 Mini, which was far away from rumors.

Diving into ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini, most noticeable thing, which rebuts the earlier report is a different moniker with mobile as well as a smaller screen size of 5-inch. Here, its display has been claimed to be equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and renders full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution. The handset comprises an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (quad-core 1.5GHz + quad-core 1GHz) processor fitted with 2GB RAM, whereas previous sources had suggested about octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC and 3GB RAM.

Notably, handheld encompasses a 16-megapixel main shooter outfitted with Sony IMX234 Exmor RS sensor and LED flash. Additionally, its front panel is housed with an 8-megapixel front camera. Coming to memory front, new scion of Chinese giant houses 16GB of expandable inbuilt storage, which can be extended upto 128GB via microSD card, says NDTV.

The one more USP of handset is inclusion of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system based on Nubia UI 2.8. The gadget is fueled by a 2900 mAh battery, but details about its talk time has not been specified yet.

Coupled with dual Nano-SIM slots, ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini offers Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, USB OTG, Micro-USB, 3G and 4G LTE functionality. Moreover, novel creation of firm will hit the shelves of China based retail stores on April 2 and it will go on sale with a price tag of CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,000), but we will have to wait for a while to get some words regarding its availability in other regions.
