Android N For Nougat Not Nutella: Google Announced

Google, the major search engine giant has officially announced the name of the Android N release. The following version of Android will be called as Android Nougat.

The name proceeds with the custom of naming significant Android releases after the name of desserts . It started its journey with Android 1.5 Cupcake, followed by Android 1.6 Donut, Android 2.0 Eclair, Android 2.2 Froyo, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The system continued with Android 3.0 Honeycomb, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Android 4.4 KitKat, Android 5.0 Lollipop, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Earlier, a month ago at its annual developer conference Google I/O, the company had welcomed users to name Android N. It's not clear if the Android Nougat name was the prominent choice among the recommendations, or it's something Google limited down all alone. It is the most interesting fact that  Nougat was the third most mainstream decision in a poll of the survey.

In terms of redesigning, Android N will bring upgrades like multi-window support, improved notifications, revamped doze, number blocking, and that's only the tip of the Google. 

Google Officially Announced Via Twitter

Google made the Android Nougat declaration via the means of  Twitter yet there's no confirmatory word for the launch date of the new Android version other than the "later this late summer" course of events reported before.

Prior to the declaration the word nougat spoke to a group of sweets made with sugar or honey, roasted nuts, whipped egg whites, and at times chopped sweetened natural product.
