Asus provided Official Bootloader Unlock Tools in ZenFone 2

Just after various techgiants get out with the bootloader apps, Asus has realized the need and introduced officially its bootloader unlock tools for popular ZenFone 2 smartphone. The smartphone is now ready to get a place with the bootloader program that helps to officially unlock the device.


Bootloader unlocking enables users to easily develop and install custom ROMs on the smartphones. As it is the first step in gaining root privileges. Announcing the official bootloader support, Asus on its MyZen forum said, "Many developers have created custom ROMs and have had to hack their way into the ZenFone 2 to make this available to power users in the community. Now, unlocking the bootloader is as easy as downloading the utility, installing it, and running it."


The Unlock Device App can be downloaded from the official company’s site. The Taiwanese company has considered the requirements and advises developers and users to first update the software image to version 2.20.40.59 or later versions. Side facing the consequences and trying to heel the respect, the company has clearly noted that this may void warranty of the device. Asus has cleared the note that, any warranty that users have got additionally from the company will be nullified if it got stuck with an error report.


The company stresses users to unlock the bootloader only after understanding all the risks involved and has officially provided the bootloader option for its ZenFone 2 smartphone, for this purpose.


Asus has made a checklist of all the side effects of unlocking the device. It includes certain features and functionalities may be disabled; device may stop working; device becomes physically damaged due to overheating; behavior of the device may be altered; some content on the device may no longer be accessible or playable due to invalid DRM keys, and all user data, settings and accounts may be wiped out.


After LG and Motorola, Asus has strived out with seamless efforts to provide bootloader unlocking support in its ZenFone 2.
