The tech giant Google's annual developer conference has started at San Francisco and the company has just showed the next thing at the event. It is now planning to launch Brillo and Weave, new software to power the Internet of Things and both of them has been derived from the famous mobile OS Android. On the occasion, Mr. Sundar Pichai, SVP Google said, “Brillo is derived from Android, yet is stripped down in ways that allows the operating system to power devices such as door locks or moisture sensors. It's just the lower layers of Android.”
He further explains about Weave that it is the communication layer that sits between devices, that cloud and devices like phones or tablets. This allows devices to talk to each other. Since Brillo and Weave are built around android, it allowed Google to design a new way to set these devices. Well, the technology surely seems the next thing for all.
Also, once the Brillo enabled products will hit the market, Android will provide a common setup screen between devices and would work in a similar way for both Brillo Door Locks and Brillo Coffee Makers. Talking about the launch, the developer preview of the Brillo might come in 3rd quarter of 2015 and Weave's full version to be launched in the fourth quarter of the year.
