The tech brand Intel launched a new portable PC dubbed NuPC. This PC runs on Windows 8.1 along the Bing support. This palm-sized desktop is a collaborative result of Taiwan-headquartered WPG Holdings and Intel. This minimized PC is a 4x4-inch (117x112mm) footprint on a desk and is 35mm thick.
Business as well as home consumers are majorly targeted by launching this palm device. It can be used in kiosks or for digital signage displays and other zones where a small computer is required. It is expected to be powered with either Intel Core i3 or the Intel Celeron processor.
Digging ou the technical features of this gadget, then the Core i3 powered PC will be having 2GB RAM, 500GB storage and 4GB RAM, 1TB storage variants priced at Rs 29,999 and Rs 32,999, respectively. With this, it will also feature Intel HD Audio 1, two USB 3.0 ports on front panel, two USB 3.0 ports on the backside and two USB 2.0 ports. On the other hand, the Celeron powered NuPC will support 2GB RAM, 500GB storage and 4GB RAM, 1TB storage variants priced at Rs 18,999 and Rs 21,999, respectively. It will feature a single USB 3.0 port at its front and two USB 2.0 ports at the back.
The most important point to heed is the fact that these PC's are totally assembled in India. 9V 3.42A DC adapter will be supported by this device. But availability of keyboard, mouse and monitor is missing in this NuPC.
