Intex apart from unveiling a number of Android smartphones recently like Aqua Lions 3G for IPL lovers also collaborated with MediaTek on Thursday and uncovered tow new smartwatches namely the iRist Junior and the iRist Pro. Intex showcased the two new smartwatches at the second Smart Cities India 2016 Expo recently held in New Delhi. For now, the company has unveiled the price of Intex iRist Junior only as INR 3,999 while the price of iRist Pro would likely get revealed once the launch date of it approaches.

Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Head, Mobile Business, Intex said, "MediaTek is an important partner for us and together our endeavor is to bring the best products to the consumers. We have strengthened our portfolio of wearable devices with the launch of these new watches, which will help us in addressing the growing demand for this segment."
The company claims that the iRist Junior is the first ever IoT (Internet of Things) based gadget and that too from an Indian brand which gets powered by the MediaTek processor. To ensure kids safety the company has incorporated GPS functionality in the smartwatch that will help parents monitor their kid's activities. In terms of specifications, the smartwatch includes a 0.96-inch TFT display and carries a weight of 48.5 grams.
Additionally, the smartwatch is IP65 certified which implies it is both water and dust proof and alongside offering Bluetooth feature it is compatible with both Android and iOS devices as well. The smartwatch further packs a 580mAh battery and reports suggest that iRist Pro too entails nearly the same specifications and hence is presumed by looks to be the successor to the company's first smartwatch.
