Mozilla-Yahoo Deal: Will it make Yahoo a default Search Engine for Firefox

The dependency of Internet has been increasing day by day and along with this, use of Google Search too reached to the pinnacle. That was the time when Web was crammed with plenty of search engines and Yahoo was on top in the list for browsing on web, but soon the whole web has been conquered by Google and has become the top choice for everyone. But Mozilla has recently surprised everyone by announcing its 5 years deal with Yahoo for making it the default search engine.

Until now, Mozilla is using Google, for its Firefox web browser. As per Mozilla Blog, this would become in December. It is also said that the default search engine will be region specific such as US will receive Yahoo, Russia will get Yandex search and China will be getting Baidu. However, all the regions will give the access of switching to another as per their choice. So, Googlers can find their way to search on the web by switching.

Yahoo has said that they will bring the new Yahoo with improved and interactive interface. On the other side, Mozilla has written in its blog that they have made this partnership to promote the innovation and to offer choice on the web for browsing. Here are few lines to describe the strategy of Mozilla to make partnership with Yahoo which reads, "In evaluating our search partnerships, our primary consideration was to ensure our strategy aligned with our values of choice and independence, and positions us to innovate and advance our mission in ways that best serve our users and the Web."

According to this deal, Yahoo will also support Do Not Track in Firfox browser. DuckDuckGo, eBay, Amazon, Twitter, Wikipedia and Bing will also be showing ion the alternate search options along with Google to switch easily from one to other.
