Vertu, the UK- based luxurious smartphone manufacturer, has re-entered the China market by launching the Aster P smartphone at a mega event in Beijing. The luxury smartphone comes with impressive design and an exorbitant price tag.
The premium Vertu Aster P comes with a European-style rear design with a titanium alloy frame, sapphire glass and calfskin accents elements which can be exchanged by exotic leather like ostrich skin, lizard skin, and crocodile skin among others.
The Aster P has been launched in two variants including Baroque and Gothic, and the major difference lies mainly in exterior design and appearance.
The premium Aster P has two panels on the rear side with flaps open in a wing-like motion similar to the doors of a Mercedes SLS. It is the place where the users can insert the SIM cards. One of the panels/ wings has a signature of the person that made the beautiful smartphone.
Aster P will be made available in Baroque and Gothic series, which will be available for purchase from October 30.
The Baroque series comes in four color options including Black, Gentleman Blue, Caramel Brown, and Twilight Orange. All of the color variants in Baroque series come with a price tag of CNY 29,800 (approximately Rs. 3.15 lakhs).
On the other hand, the Gothic series comes with a starting price of Rs. 3.15 lakh for the Black Jade and White Moon color options. However, the Gothic series Dazzling Gold Color variant has been priced at CNY 98,000 (roughly Rs. 10.38 lakhs).
Vertu Aster P features a 4.97-inch full-HD display panel with the screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and regular 16:9 aspect ratio. At the software front, the premium Aster P runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Operating System. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. For storing data, the smartphone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage.
For photography, the Vertu Aster P features a single 12MP rear camera featuring dual LED flash. Up front, the smartphone gets a 20MP selfie cameras with features like a panoramic view and an f/2.2 aperture.
The Aster P supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi with hotspot support, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It packs a 3,200mAh non-removable battery bundled with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It measures 149.8x71x10.1mm and weight is 220 grams.
As far as security is concerned, the Aster P has been equipped with encryption technology and data safety features. An encryption technology that "prevents SMS and call records from leaking". It allows users to remotely lock the gadget as well as delete all content in case of security threat situation.
Vertu has developed an exclusive ringtone for Aster P luxurious smartphones in partnership with the London Symphony Orchestra.
