Xiaomi to Unveil First MI Home Store Next Week in Bangalore, India

Xiaomi, the leading Chinese technology company has rolled out press invites for the launching event of its first MI Home store in India, which will take place on 11 May 2017. The new Mi Home store will be one of its kind in India and will be a milestone in the company’s small but significant journey in Indian smartphone market.

The event will take place in Bangalore along with the presence of Manu Jain, Group Vice President, and Managing Director, Xiaomi India. The new store will offer accessories and products such as power banks, headphones, Mi Band, Mi Air Purifier, and much more, but it is still unknown whether the company start selling smartphones from the day one or not. After getting its first store getting unveiled in Bangalore, Xiaomi has plans to establish official stores in other cities of India too.

The company initially used only online channels outside china to sell its smartphones, but it has started selling them via offline retailers outside the home country from October last year. After China, the first country to get the Mi Home Store was Singapore, and after Bangalore launch, there will be stores in a total number of 5 countries including India, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Xiaomi has continuously attracting Indian smartphone users straight from its debut in 2014 in Indian Market. According to some reports published last month by a research firm Strategy Analytics, Xiaomi is now ranked as the best and most preferred smartphone brand for the Indian consumers, who are willing to upgrade their smartphone in 2017. Moreover, the reports also state that the company has topped the preferred brands chart for the next smartphone purchase with 26 percent share.

According to the company, it has witnessed a tremendous growth of 125 percent year on year, which is undoubtedly a significant momentum for any smartphone company. All of the credit goes to the affordable price segment of its offerings. The report further adds that more than half part of Indian smartphone buyers desires to spend between Rs 10,000-20,000 only for any smartphone, in which the company has gained the complete trust. Only 6 percent of potential buyers goes with the premium smartphone segment (above Rs 35,000).
