Xiaomi Becomes World’s Largest Wearable Devices Vendor

Several Players like Apple, Fitbit and Xiaomi are selling wearable devices in the competitive market. As per the latest research from Strategy Analytics, it is disclosed that Xiaomi has been ranked among world’s largest wearable devices in the second quarter of 2017. Mi overtook Apple as well as Fitbit in terms of selling the wearable device.

Let’s talk about progress report of Xiaomi, Fitbit, and Apple in the second quarter of 2017:-

For the first time, Xiaomi has secured number one position in selling the wearable device in the worldwide, sell nearly 3.7 million devices and capture 17.1 percent market share, in the second quarter of 2017. During the second quarter of 2017 Apple has ranked the third position in the worldwide, by selling about 2.8 million wearable devices it captured 13 percent market share. World’s Renowned company Fitbit which is famous for wearable devices, sold nearly 3.4 million units, captured 15.7 per cent market share, and ranked the second position in the duration of April- June 2017.

Let’s talk about last year progress report of Xiaomi, Fitbit, and Apple:-

Last year in the second quarter, Apple sold 1.8 million devices and had captured 9 percent market share which shows that Apple progress is increasing year on year. Last year in similar duration, Xiaomi sold out 3 million units and captured 15 percent market share. Fitbit units were fallen from 5.7 million units to 3.4 million units as compared to previous year. Last year at this time, Fitbit has ruled the segment. Currently, Fibit is struggling to maintain its growth due to its low demand in wearable devices. It is anticipated that sales of the will soon pick up as the company is going to launch smart-watch this year could rival the likes of Apple Watch and Samsung Gear S3.

"Xiaomi's Mi Band fitness trackers are wildly popular in China, due to their highly competitive pricing and rich features such as heart-rate monitors, step-counters and calendar alerts. Fitbit shipped 3.4 million wearables for 16 percent market share worldwide in Q2 2017, almost halving from 29 percent a year ago. Fitbit is at risk of being trapped in a pincer movement between the low-end fitness bands sold by Xiaomi and the fitness-led, high-end smartwatches sold by Apple," Neil Mawston, Executive Director at Strategy Analytics, said in a statement.
