Hyundai Creta 1st Anniversary edition Revealed: Market Launch Soon

Hyundai India showcased the special edition of Creta yesterday after being completed one year successfully. And the very first trim has been gifted to the Indian Badminton star Saina Nehwal for her exuberant show at Australian Open 2016 which she eventually won.

The first anniversary event of the five-seater SUV took place in the presence of YK Koo, the MD and CEO of Hyundai India and Saina Nehwal. "It is an honour and wonderful experience for me and I would like to thank Hyundai for honouring me with the 1st Anniversary Edition of Creta. It's motivation for every athlete to receive the recognition for his/her hard-work and achievements," said the Indian Badminton star in her statement.

What’s new on the anniversary model, the special edition features only cosmetic updates to its interiors and exteriors as well that differentiate it from the regular model. The much noteworthy features of the anniversary edition Creta include stripe styled body stickers in red and grey on the sides and the rear of the SUV, 1st anniversary Edition badge on the c-pillar, black roof and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, it gets the new dual tone seats in red and black.

However, the anniversary edition of Creta features no mechanical changes under its hood. It will be offered with the same 1.6-litre VTVT petrol, 1.6-litre CRDi and a less powered 1.4-litre CRDi diesel units that power the current models. The petrol engine is tuned to deliver 121 bhp of power in combination with 151 Nm of torque while, the higher diesel unit produces 126 bhp and 259 Nm of power and torque respectively. Both the 1.6-litre units are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The less powered diesel unit churns out 89 bhp of power and 220 Nm of torque, and paired with a 6-speed manual transmission only.

The anniversary edition is yet to launch in the market by the company, hence the price has not revealed. Being an anniversary edition the number of units will be limited and based on on the SX variant.
