Spied: Next-gen Nissan Micra Spotted Testing Prior to Its Global Debut

The 2017 Nissan Micra has been spotted testing on the European roads ahead of its global debut which is expected to take place at Paris Motor Show in October this year. The heavily camouflaged test mule is the Europe-bound updated model of the current popular hatchback from the Japanese automaker and will be globally launched by next year.

The fifth generation Nissan Micra will be based on the Renault-Nissan alliance's new CMF-B platform and will get some new design updates and some new features as well.

Even though not being a very successful product by the Japanese brand in India, the Nissan Micra is well appreciated by some international markets such as Europe and South America.

However, the Indian-spec Micra will also get a generation updates as well, but it will differ from the European version. Unlike the Europe-bound Micra, the Indian-spec model will be built on the same V-platform that used in the current generation, instead of the company’s new CMF-B platform.

Coming back to the spy images, in terms of the design the 2017 Nissan Micra is closely inspired by the Nissan Sway Concept that was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015. The upcoming model looks sportier than the current selling version and still under developing phase at company’s European Nissan Technical Center. From the news, the much notable changes include the entirely new front fascia along with the new radiator grill and new headlamps. The side and rear profile of the car have also been received fresh design updates.
