2016 Hyundai Tucson Testing Mule Spotted in India

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson made its debut in India couple of months back at the 2016 Auto Expo. The carmaker is confident enough to position the premium crossover between the prominent products like the Creta and Santa Fe. The test mule has been spotted on the roads of Chennai recently, which reaffirms the launch to take place soon in the upcoming months. The reports suggests that the carmaker has planned to launch the crossover by August/ September this year.

The third generation model with rich accessories and equipments is said to create a good buzz among the SUV lovers in India. The SUV measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,645 mm in height and offers a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. It get a decent boot space of 513 liter in the rear.The upcoming model is likely to be configured with hexagonal grille uprint on the front facia, peeled back headlamps with projector, bumper-mounted LED daytime running lights and high-mounted LED taillights.

Meanwhile, the interior is expected to receive some latest equipments such as a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, multifunction steering wheel and multiple airbags. The 5-seater SUV comes with an ultimate package of safety support as well.

The crossover will be available in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol engine is likely to be the 1.4-litre turbocharged unit which comes paired to a dual-clutch transmission. While,the diesel lineup present in the international markets comes under 114 PS 1.7-litre and 182 PS 2.0-litre units. It could be mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT as choices.

Moreover, the SUV is expected to be brought in India via CKD kits.The 2016 Hyundai Tucson will rival against Skoda Yeti, Honda CR-V and the Jeep C-SUV. It is expected to be priced between Rs 15 Lacs to 20 Lacs.
