2017 Audi Q7 Recalled for the Second Time

Earlier, the automaker and its parent company, the Volkswagen group have been soared up high in the newspaper headlines for admitting about the circumvention of hiding emission control system. The Q7, which was sold between 2009 to 2016, was also a part of the same and faced a recall process. Now the latest updated version has also been recalled, however, not for the same reason. This time, the crossover has been called off due to the problem with its third row of  seats that can easefully move forward during a collision.

The manufacturer said, "If the third row seat does not remain in its position, there may be an increased risk of injury to an occupant, in the event of a crash." This has been taken as a violation of safety in terms of seating system under the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 207. Above 19,000 affected units have been recalled by the company.

Whatever the reason lies behind the process, but it’s not a good sign for Audi Q7’s market as it has been recalled for the second time in a week. Last time, the 2017 Q7 was recalled in the wake of airbag control module issue that had found to be deployed with so much exertion and hence it could have been risk for both the driver and the front occupants.
