2017 BS4 Compliant TVS Jupiter Spied Ahead of Launch: Get AHO and SBS feature

One of the best selling scooters in the Indian two-wheelers industry, TVS Jupiter has also been updated with the BS-IV engine for 2017 model year, after Wego. The updated trim of the scooter was spotted at TVS dealer yard in Delhi ahead of its launch. From the images, it is evident that the new Jupiter gets some new features, and changes from the ongoing model.

The 2017 Jupiter walk around clearly says that the scooter has observed major changes only on the mechanical front. The aesthetic changes are minimal and are kind of a few stickers placement which signifies the inclusion of that facility to the vehicle. The changes are listed below:

* The new Jupiter will be powered by a BS-IV compliant engine to reduce the pollutants emission, the stickers on the front apron and at the rear mud flap confirm it.

* An Auto Headlamp ON feature is also there, the headlamp switch absence on the instrument panel indicates its addition.

* For improved braking, TVS has equipped this new Jupiter with the CBS (Combined Braking System) that now determined by SBS stand for Sync Braking System, used earlier on the new Wego.

* With the addition of disc brake to the existing ZX variant of the scooter, as an optional extra. After launch, the offered variants for the Jupiter will be three- Standard, ZX and the ZX Disc Brake. Earlier, only the special MillionR Edition comes fitted with disc brake aids.

If 2017 Jupiter's engine specs considers, there is no official information about what changes will be on the engine front, beside BS-IV compliance. While the ongoing model gets the propelling power from the 109.7cc motor that is claimed to pump out 8 PS (5.88 Kw) of peak power at 7500 rpm and the towering torque of 8 Nm at 5500 rpm.

In terms of pricing, we can see a price hike of around INR 500- 1000, on the price tag of the current Jupiter. Currently, the scooter is available to buy in three variants, the variants and their (ex-showroom, Delhi) prices are mentioned below:

Jupiter MillionR- INR 53,034

Complete updated specifications of the 2017 TVS Jupiter will only be known at the launch of scooter. As for now, the automaker did not announce the launch date, but the scooters have already marked its presence at the TVS dealerships.
