2017 Honda City Facelift Spotted in India While Ad-Shoot, Hints Imminent Launch

And she is finally here! For the very first time, the 2017 facelift Honda City has been clicked in India during an ad shoot. The MY2017 City is scheduled to launch in Thailand on January 12th, while no official date has been revealed for the India-launch of Sedan. Though, the recent spy shots suggest the soon after launch in the country.

The spy shots reveal that aesthetically the India-spec 2017 City will be identical to that of the Thailand version. Exterior updates are what the teaser images featured, the new LED headlamps underlined with the LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), larger grille with chrome accent and a revised up-front bumper. Moving on the sides, the new 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheel will surely hold your attention for a while. The highlight at the rear include LED taillamps, boot mounted spoiler with integrated high-end brake light and completely redesigned bumper with faux air dams.

The other noteworthy updates on the Thai-spec 2017 Honda City include a black dashboard, an all new smart infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a mobile morning app. All the similar equipment are also likely to be carried out on the India-spec 2017 City. The info-system will also be developed to recognise Indian-accent based voice commands for the navigation system. Other details include six airbags as a standard on the range-topping version, leather seats and a soft touch dual-tone dashboard.

Since the new City is a facelift update, the changes are limited to the aesthetics, beneath the front-end India-bound MY2017 City will continue to get power from a 1.5-litre petrol powerhouse and a 1.5-litre diesel-powered mill. Transmission duties will be handled by either a BR-V new borrowed 6-speed manual gearbox as standard or an optional CVT gearbox exclusively for petrol powered mill.
