2017 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 EFi Ready to Go on Sale in India

The Royal Enfield’s flagship machine, Bullet 500 has been updated with EFi (Electronic Fuel Injection) engine technology which is currently on sale in the UK market. Now, one can avail this more powerful version of the Bullet 500 in India as well.
With the same single cylinder 499cc motor, the new Bullet 500 EFi produces added power of 26.1 bhp which comes out at 5250 rpm while the peak torque of 40.9 Nm which churns out at 3,800 rpm remains unchanged. Considering the older carburettor version, it was capable of generating the maximum power of 26.1 bhp at 5,100 rpm along with the same maximum torque of 40.9 Nm at 3,800 rpm.

The Indian version of the Royal Enfield Bullet 500 EFi still misses the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and rear disc brake, unlike the UK model. It continues with the single disc brake setup. Other changes include 1 kg additional weight and 10 mm shorter wheelbase.

The body colour options for the Bullet 500 in India include Black, Forest Green and Marsh Grey. The design of the bike is quite similar to old Bullet lineup with the square rear arch and standard single ribbed seat. Most of its parts are borrowed from Classic 500, but keep the iconic Bullet spirit in its soul. Several noteworthy changes keep both bikes distinguished from each other. The handlebar position on both Bullet and Classic is different from each other. While the Classic 500 comes with single seat arrangement with optional rear seat, the Bullet 500 is offered with a standard single ribbed seat for the two occupants.

On the other hand, the Bullet 500 EFi a lot more upmarket than older 350 version. It gets an electric starter, front disc brake and better tyres for improved grip on the tough terrains. The tyre specs include 90/90-19 for the front wheel and 120/80-18 for the rear wheel. It has a fuel tank of capacity 13.5 litres.

However, the price of Royal Enfield Bullet 500 has not been announced yet while the addition of EFi tech could hike the price of the bike a little bit. Moving forward, Royal Enfield has also updated its Himalayan bike with the fuel injection technology on its official webpage.
