2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid Launched in India; Priced at INR 31.98 Lakh

It’s been hardly 24 hours, the Indian auto segment welcomed the all-new Prius Hybrid car. And now, the another launch in the series from the same facility has been taken place here in the market. Yeah! The 2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid has been launched in India with some subtle cosmetic updates and few added details. It is priced at INR 31.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), almost INR 1 lakh costlier than the previous one.

On the outset, the updated Toyota Camry hybrid gets some new features on the outside that includes projector headlamps with LED illumination, auto folding ORVMs with memory, revised LED daytime running lamps, and new 15-spoke alloy wheels. Besides, fog lamps too have featured LEDs. No additional exterior color options are there and it is available in the same namely, True Blue Mica Metallic, Gray Metallic, Attitude Black, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic and Dark Brown Mica Metallic.

The features list inside the cabin is also impressive with all new audio system, 12 JBL speakers, a wireless smartphone charger, navigation and reverse camera monitor with corner sensors. On the safety front, the car sports some new equipment comprising nine SRS airbags (including driver knee bag), a tyre pressure monitoring system, new emergency brake signal, black guide monitor, ISOFIX child safety seats, vehicle stability control among the others.

On the mechanical front, the new Toyota Camry Hybrid continues to be powered by a 2.5 litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine working alongside an electric motor. The combined output stands at 203 bhp (158 Bhp from petrol and 44 Bhp from the hybrid motor). The engine is mated to an electronically controlled CVT automatic transmission. For such mechanism, the Camry is claimed to return a fuel mileage of 19.16kpl and an acceleration of 0-100 kmph in 9.2sec.

Here, we would also like to thank the government who has encouraged our efforts to promote hybrid technology in India by introducing schemes like FAME-(Faster Adoption & Manufacturing of Electric cars) under which the Camry Hybrid qualifies to receive a markdown of Rs. 70,000 in its price which is passed onto the customer.”
