All-New BMW 5 Series to be Launched in India on June 29, Bookings Commence

BMW, the German carmaker is all prepared to launch its all-new BMW 5 Series in India on 29 June 2017. It is expected that the 5 series will be unloaded in three trims option of 520i, 520d and the 530d, ranging from Rs 55 lakh to Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom) in the automotive industry. There is a good news for those who are desiring to opt one of the mentioned models, as the bookings have already be started at the token amount of Rs 2-5 lakh.

The 2017 BMW 5 Series, which is in its seventh generation is based on a new OKL platform, also known as G30. This OKL platform which is made up of an alloy consisting carbon-fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP), magnesium and aluminum, is around 100kg lighter than the chassis underpinned the outgoing models. In terms of styling, the luxury car manufacturer is following the same BMW characteristic, yet, the new BMW 5 Series gets the revised kidney grille and LED headlamps as a revision in look.

Comparatively, this new BMW 5 Series is bigger, spacious and more comfortable than its predecessor. Mechanically, only the base petrol and diesel variants will get power from the four-cylinder engines, while, the top end 530d will get the propelling power from a 3.0 liter six cylinder engine. In the Indian market, the new BMW 5 Series will go in competition with the rivals in the segment such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, and Volvo S90.
