Audi India Raises Production for its Q3 S Manual Variant

One of the leading luxury car makers Audi, is reportedly going to increase the production of its popular Q3 S model for the Indian market. The decision has been taken by Audi India in order to meet the increasing demand for this variant. Audi Q3 was launched in the last month with its manual variant priced at INR 28.99 Lacs along with the automatic variant at INR 33.50 Lacs.

However, the model (particularly the manual one) has gained popularity in the Indian car market since August 2013 when it was introduced for the first time in the country. At that time, it was priced at an affordable rate of INR 24.99 Lacs and was the only diesel luxury car available in India. This led to a huge demand and a lot of customers started placing orders for the model.

With the rising demand for the model, Audi has realised that the production capacity is way too less than the current requirement. Due to this gap between demand and supply, the customers are put on the waiting list. Moreover, the number of automatic variants manufactured was more than the manual ones.

Now the company aims at solving this issue by doubling up the production of its manual Q3 variant along with an increase in the production capacity. According to Mr Joe King, who is the head of Audi India, the present production capacity of the plant is more than 10,000 units. The company will further increase it upto 14,000 units on a single shift.
