Audi SQ2 Exposed, Anticipated Launch Scheduled for Late 2017

Ahead of its arrival in showrooms, Audi's smallest top ranging crossover- SQ2 has been spied performing the test rounds. Completely undisguised, the car is scheduled for the official launch in late 2017.

Scrutinizing the spy images, it has been perceived that the SQ2 took design inspirations from that of Audi SQ7. The blacked out grille, body pillars, wheels and a faux front and rear splitter colored in black are the prominent bits beneath the design. There's a standard halogen spotted onto the test car, however, the production variant is expected to feature xenons as a backup, if not LED lamps.

Mechanically, the same engine as that of Audi S3 is said to be imparted in the crossover, i.e. a turbocharged 2.0-litre, petrol, four-cylinder motor that is capable of sending 306 BHP of power to all the four wheels. With a set of extra vivacious-looking bumpers, a large air intake at the front end and a diffuser at the rear make the SQ2 considerably familiar with its sibling vehicles.

Talking about the interiors, no significant upgrades were spotted by far. Though, the design of the cabin is might be the same as the Q2. Probably, we might see a couple of sporty modifications like a stitching contrast on the seats and chrome dashboard finish as well. On a surprising note, the tail lamps are identical to that of Polo and Golf.

A small tittle-tattle has also been churning up that the company would not stop here and start thinking about the RS Q2 variant as well, which is going to be powered by 362HP 2.5-litre, five-cylinder turbo engine.

The regular Audi SQ2 might be embraced warmly a few months later, with the high-performance SQ2 version to debut in late 2017 or at the initiation of 2018.
