BMW 1-Series Sedan Rendered Online

It goes without saying that the German automaker BMW is bringing a new player in the global market in order to compete with the likes of Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA. Proposed under the moniker of 1-Series, it was first displayed as a BMW Concept Compact Sedan at the 2015 Guangzhou Motor Show in China and is likely to cheer the crowd once again at the same show in November this year. Now, a couple of images of the said unit have also been rendered online from China, where it is going to be launched at first.

From the snapshots, we can divulge that more or less every styling attribute has been borrowed from the concept version of the car, however, subtle changes identified include new alloy wheels, fog lamps on the bumper, wing mirrors and some others on the designing front. Even though the 1-Series sedan is the least expensive unit in the BMW’s range, still, the model is equipped with most of the regular as well as some lately designed features that will attract you a lot.

Mechanically, the sedan is going to be offered in three different trims namely 118i, 120i and 125i. Where the lighter 118i will be powered by a 1.5-litre three cylinder turbo motor, the mid and top spec will come up with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. In terms of the performance, the 118i, 1.5-litre engine is capable of generating 137.8 PS of power and the 120i and 125i, 2.0-litre engine will make out 194.6 PS and 234 PS of power, respectively.

Furthermore, the power will be dispatched to the front wheel only for all three mills that are likely to be packed with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Dimensionally, it is reported to be measured 4456 mm in length, 1803 mm in width , 1146 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2670 mm. It is too soon to pass any comment about its diesel variant as well as its entry into the Indian car segment, however, the success of CLA and A3 might bind the automaker to introduce the unit here in the country later.
