Nissan auto subsidiary Datsun has finally launched its new Redi-Go hatchback in India at the starting price of INR 2.38 Lakhs and goes up to INR 3.34 Lakhs for the top-spec variant (both ex-showroom, Delhi). The car is based on the similar Nissan-Renault Aligns Platform CMF-A, which underpins the Kwid hatch. Available in four trims namely D, A, T, T(O), and S, it will directly take the competition with Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Hyundai Eon, Renault Kwid and with other entry level small car.
The first concept model of Redi Go was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo and earlier it was showcased at the same event in 2016. Dimensionally, it measures 3429 mm in length, 1560 mm in width, 1541 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2348 mm. To give a more comfortable ride, Datsun has also offered a high ground clearance of 185 mm as well as 22-litres of boot capacity. Moreover, the vehicle comes in five color options.
Inside the cabin, the carmaker has loaded all the regular and advanced features that include a 2-DIN audio system with USB and AUX connectivity, two speakers and power steering wheel, while you will also get to use some additional features like front power window, daytime running lights on the higher variants. Driver side airbag is available as a standard attachment.
Under the hood, the Redi-Go has got a 799 cc iSAT (Intelligent Spark Automated Technology) three cylinder petrol engine that is capable to churn out a power of 53 Bhp at 5678 rpm along with a torque of 72 Nm at 4386 rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is also mated to the engine.
