Datsun has already been releasing the teaser images of the fresh production-version of the Datsun RediGo hatchback. The Hatchback will be launched in India tomorrow i.e April 14, 2016. As of now, we don’t have much official interior detailing about the car. But, we can say a lot about the exterior counterpart.
The RediGo is the carmaker's third car for the Indian market. The company had already announced the Go hatchback and the Go+ MPV earlier. They will hit the Indian showrooms in May this year. The RediGO appears more modern and sporty from outside.
However, the production version will not be much different from the concept model that appeared at the Auto Expo 2014. The cabin is expected to get more exciting features. Mechanically, the RediGo is likely to house a 3-cylinder 800cc SCe petrol engine which produces 53 bhp of power output and 74 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a five-speed manual transmission.
Interestingly, RediGo is first ever car which is based on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-A platform. It will be produced locally at the carmaker’s Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Oragadam, Chennai. After launch, it will stand against the entry-level hatchbacks like Hyundai Eon, Renault Kwid, and Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. It is expoected to be proced between INR 3 Lacs to 5 Lacs.
