Delhi Auto Expo 2016 Witnessed First Ever Imprint of Yamaha Ray-ZR

The leading Japanese automobile company, Yamaha, revealed its new scooter, Cygnus Ray-ZR, for the first time at the ongoing Auto Expo 2016 at Delhi. Last month, Yamaha had released its Ray-Z-125 model and the latest Cygnus-Ray-ZR is a step ahead of that. The company said that the newest scooter model is focused on attracting the youth generation of India.

The Cygnus Ray-ZR model has been incorporated with an air-cooled 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, 113 cc engine along with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) unit. The scooter is lightweight and weighs around 103 kg. It also sports a disc-brake enabled aluminium wheels and offers an under-seat storage capacity of 21L.

The Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motors India, said, "2015 was a highly successful year for Yamaha as it witnessed 5% growth rate, despite a sluggish market. In the domestic market, the company sold 5.94 lakh units of two-wheelers in 2015 and aims to increase it to 8 lakh units this year". He further said, "The unveiling of the new Cygnus Ray-ZR is a very significant step in our efforts to consolidate our position in the fast-growing Indian scooter market".
