Exclusive- Royal Enfield to roll out Bullet Electra 500 in 2016

The homebased two wheeler maker, Royal Enfield is a renowned name for its powerful cruiser bikes in India. The Royal Enfield is on the track of success to establish its market globally. The manufacturer is continuously in the news for its awaited adventure motorcycle, Himalayan. The adventure motorcycle may launch in February at Delhi Auto Expo 2016.

Recently a news from the sources came out that the Royal Enfield is working on a new project, Royal Enfield Bullet Electra 500 which is retaining the toughness and engine of the Bullet 500. Furthermore, the new Electra variant will receive some cosmetic tweaks to give a fresh look.

Cosmetically, the Bullet Electra 500 will be furnished with a new tail light, chrome fenders, new air filter box and the motorcycle will be available in new color options along with a pair of new tyres.

The new Electra 500 will be propelled by using the same 499cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder twin spark engine as propel the Bullet 500. The 499cc engine churns out 26.1 bhp of power at 5,100 revs and 40.9 Nm of torque at 3,800 revs. The power will be transferred to the rear by a five speed transmission. Whereas, the current Electra model is equipped with a single-cyclinder, air-cooled and twin spark with the displacement engine of 346cc that manages to generate 19.8 bhp power at 5,250 RPM and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 RPM.

Both the motorcycles share the same single downtube frame to hold the engine as a stressed member. Moreover the suspension duties will be performed by the telescopic forks at the front and rear gets gas charged shocks (Electra model comes with adjustable preload gas charged shock at the rear).

The Royal Enfield Bullet Electra will be priced slightly much than the current Bullet 500 motorcycle. The anticipation about the launch is that motorcycle like to launch in the second half of the year 2016.
