Fiat Egea Likely to be Manufactured in India and Brazil

Fiat Egea is emerging as a famous sedan nowadays, considering the fact that it will be replacing Linea in the market soon. Sometimes back, there was a buzz that the production has started in Turkey and now, a recent report on just-auto suggests that apart from the main manufacturing process going on in Fiat's Turkey plant, located in TOFAS, this upcoming model is likely to be built in India and Brazil as well. If these rumours are to be believed, then we can expect the Egea to arrive with LHD version in India and other countries.

Dimension wise, it stands 4500 mm in length, 1780 mm in width, 1480 mm in height and carries a wheelbase measured at 2640 mm. From outside, it will sport stylish features like chrome grille, sweptback headlights, body colored wing mirrors, sculpted bonnet, pronounced roofline, large tail lamps, etc. as we move in, there will be a 5-inch infotainment facility with Bluetooth connectivity and automatic climate control for occupants' convenience.

Coming to the mechanical configuration, the powertrain lineup will consist of both diesel and petrol versions. The former includes a 1.3 litre unit making 95 Hp and a 1.6 litre unit with 120 Hp, mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission respectively. Moving on to the latter version, it will comprise a 1.4 litre motor clubbed to 5-speed gearbox that pumps 95 Hp, whereas the second one is a 1.6 litre engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and is capable of generating 110 Hp output.
