Last Week, the American car manufacturer Ford announced that its three models will be embarking on the Indian road within next 9 months. Further, this automaker has recently made promulgation regarding theses vehicles' name, which confirms that the next generation Figo hatchback and the new Endeavour have also been listed in this index along with the Figo Aspire. According to the reports, the forthcoming Ford Endeavour will be scraped out in 2015 and this early pre-launch unveiling gives an indication that the SUV will make its way to the Indian market at the beginning of the next year.
The company's President and Managing Director, Mr. Nigel Harris told Indian Autos Blog, “We said 3 vehicles in 9 months. You’ll start to see the Endeavour before the end of this year, to look at, but in reality we’ll bring it early next year.” This vehicle might be launched at the 2016 Auto Expo that will be held in early February. On the other hand, the manufacturer has already brought a few Endeavour's prototypes to our country for the purpose of testing and homologation.
Coming to the mechanical features, the Ford Endeavour is anticipated to be powered by a 2.2 litre TDCi four cylinder diesel and a 3.2 litre five cylinder TDCi diesel mills. A 6-speed automatic transmission could be seen in the latter one. It will be introduced as the CKD unit and the production will take place at the Ford's Chennai Plant, where the kits will be imported from Thailand.
