Honda Launches its Hydrogen Based FCV Car

The pioneer in the automobile technology Honda was in the news last year when it launched the first of its kind hydrogen powered FCX Clarity car, as a concept though. But, the car was much appreciated for its technology and thought as a potential solution for the upcoming scarcity of conventional fuel. However, it didn't take off as expected from the concept platform. But now, the company has come up with its sort of successor type car named as Honda FCV which is on the cards for production and is very same in looks and design with the concept demoed last year.

This new Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) has been revealed in Japan and is expected to arrive in showrooms by first quarter of 2016 and will subsequently be launched in the European market as well. The major design part which has been retained from the concept is its rear-wheel cover and they look astonishing on it. While comparing this FCV to its predecessor, it has increased power density by 60% and the fuel stacks size has also been reduced by around 30%.

The car is good enough to generate more than 135 bhp power and is capable to drive nearly 480 km with 3-5 re-fill time at any hydrogen filling station. Now that is something very interesting! After the launch, this new Honda FCV will be challenged by its own cousin names as Honda Mirai which is going to be launched in the Europe next summer and from the Hyundai's ix35 hydrogen car.
