Hyundai Elantra ASEAN-Spec Facelift Previewed

The people who were waiting to have a glimpse of the ASEAN-spec Hyundai Elantra facelift is over now because the company has disclosed the facelift in Malaysia for the very first time. In comparison with its left-hand-drive counterpart which was launched in August 2018, the basic difference is that there are minor cosmetic tweaks along with the external especially in alloy wheel design and also a few bits of chrome. The same thing is in the cabin featuring same styling in both the left-hand-drive model as well as the ASEAN-spec car.

The automatic climate control system has been replaced by the manual AC but it might differ as per the market.

Equipment

If the equipments is to be seen, then the ASEAN-spec car comes with 17-inch alloys, automatic projector headlamps, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, leather upholstery, a reverse camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Safety

In terms of the safety, the company has provided the features including ABS with EBD and vehicle stability control, six airbags, and many more.

Engine

The facelifted car will get the power from the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol powertrain which is same like in the previous cars, and is the only powertrain provided in the markets of the Malaysia.

On the other hand, it is expected that the company will offer the present 1.6-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol powertrains. In India, the car will be offered with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ABS, ventilated seats, multi-zone climate control, six airbags, etc.

Rivals

After its launch, the Elantra facelift will compete with the latest Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla Altis, and the Skoda Octavia.
