Yamaha has been planning to expand the premium as well as the commuter segment that will help in its sales. And, the firm has received a good response in the premium segment that is the reason the firm has launched YZF R3 in 325cc segment. The market of Yamaha's commuter motorcycles is also good that is why the firm is developing affordable and fuel oriented motorcycles to meet with the requirement of the customers.

The company has an annual sales target of 1 million units by 2017 and is hopeful of achieving the long-desired 10 per cent market share in 2018. India is the third-largest market of Yamaha based on volume and by the next year, it expects to become the No. 2 market for the Yamaha.
