Indian Auto Market To Witness Three New Car Launches in June 2016

The Indian Auto sector is going to heat up again with the launch of three anticipated launches in different segments like SUV, Sedan and Hatchback. The upcoming month will witness the launch of cars like Mercedes-Benz GLC, Volkswagen Ameo and Datsun redi-GO. Meanwhile, Volkswagen has already started Marketing Campaign with the Ameo sedan in major cities. The cars have been enlisted below:

Mercedes-Benz GLC

Mercedes India is set to launch its new GLC model in the Indian market on June 2, 2016. This five-seater luxury SUV is expected to come at a price of Rs 60 Lakh. In the SUV segment, it will be seen competing with rivals such as the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. It will be imported as CBU and later on go for local assembly. Volkswagen Ameo

The german carmaker is developing the Ameo model with a different strategy in India. The automaker believes that the sedan will improve its overall sales performance. The production of the Ameo sedan has already started at the Chakan facility.

The company has also brought a dedicated mobile App for booking the Ameo car. In the Indian market, the Ameo car will be competing against popular models such as Honda Amaze and Ford Aspire. The car has started to roll out of the Chakan Plant. The company is expecting a production hike of around 15 Percent with the launch of Ameo Compact Sedan in India.

Datsun redi-GO

The redi-GO model will be the entry-level hatchback from the company. It is based on the similar CMFA platform that underpins Renault Kwid. Datsun redi-GO is available for booking and has been spotted in various dealerships ahead of the launch.

Some reports suggest that the sales of the new redi-GO will start from the first week of June. The price of the hatchback will lie in between INR 2.5 Lakhs to INR 3.5 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom).

On a lighter note, the launch of these small and midsize cars in India will somewhere bring a positive scenario for the carmakes. As the carmakers are already facing problem with the diesel ban in several parts of India.
