Mahindra to Introduce Petrol Variants For All Models From 2018

Mahindra & Mahindra, India’s leading utility vehicle manufacturer has decided to launch petrol variants for all of its models from 2018.

Pawan Goenka, executive director, M&M said, “Any product that we launch from a year after will come with a petrol engine. We are currently working on a 1.5-litre petrol engine. So the petrol engines powering the future vehicles will be either of the three: 1.2, 1.5 or 2.0 litre.”

After the judgment of The Supreme Court to ban the registration of diesel vehicles along with engine capacity over 2000cc in Delhi-NCR, the customers now shifted their preference to petrol cars. The Autocar manufacturers are also pushing their petrol variants to increase the sales part. Mahindra has recently launched a 1.9-litre version of the company’s mHawk diesel engine for Scorpio and XUV500 in its key marketplace Delhi-NCR.
