Maruti DZire Launched with AGS Technology at INR 8.39 Lacs

Maruti Suzuki has launched the famous Dzire model equipped with Auto Gear Shift (AGS) technology at the retail price of INR 8.39 Lacs. With this launch, Dzire has become the fourth Maruti offering and the first diesel car to be available with AGS. It will be sold with the top end variant ZDi. Undoubtedly, it's one of the most successful cars in the Indian automobile market. So, this comes as a treat to the Swift fans who will now be able to enjoy a more efficient vehicle.

At the event, Mr Randheer Singh Kalsi, Executive Director Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki,was quoted as saying, “Auto Gear Shift, a two-pedal technology, enables customers to drive with comfort and convenience, especially in congested city conditions. This convenience is available to them at an attractive price, without any compromise on fuel efficiency. Maruti Suzuki introduced the AGS technology in India with Celerio and we currently offer it in Alto K10 and Wagon R also. IT has been very well accepted by customers. We are delighted to now offer Auto Gear Shift technology in DZire diesel as well.”

Mechanically, it will continue to be powered by 1.3 litre DDiS motor that is tuned to make maximum power of 75 PS and peak torque of 190 Nm. As per the official claims, it will return a fuel economy of 26.59 km/l, which is also offerd by the existing manual version. The AGS technology is accompanied by Intelligent Shift Control Actuator. This component helps in synchronising clutch's control and smoothening the gearshift, thereby reducing the gear shifting time.
