After launching the Ciaz model in India on September 1, Maruti Suzuki has added a new variant to the lineup named RS. This compact sedan has been receiving a favourable response from the customers since its launch. Moreover, the introduction of hybrid powertrain has done wonders for the brand. Following this, Maruti is now aiming at further capitalising from this model. The newly added variant is inspired from the ZXi+ and ZDi+ trims and has amazing features. This RS carries a retail price of INR 9.20 Lacs and INR 10.28 Lacs for the petrol and diesel guise respectively.
Coming to the mechanical front, it is packed with a 1.4 litre, 4-cylinder petrol motor that has the maximum capacity of developing 91Bhp at 6000rpm. Transmission is handled either by a five-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic unit. Moving on to the diesel mill, it is fitted with a 1.3 litre, 4-cylinder SHVS unit that is good enough to make 89Bhp at 4000rpm along with a peak torque of 200Nm at 1750rpm. A five-speed manual transmission facility is present in this arrangement.

As far as the cosmetics and other equipments are concerned, these include rear spoiler at the boot lid, SmartPlay infotainment system, grey chrome on instrument panel, etc. Some important features like ABS and airbags are present for ensuring safety of the occupants. It is being offered in seven color schemes namely Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Midnight Black, Pearl Snow White, Pearl Sangria Red, Metallic Clear Beige, Metallic Silky Silver and Metallic Glistening Gray.
