Maruti Suzuki Wagon R to be Rolled out from November with AMT

Wagon R, a well established model in its segment, has been present in the automobile market for a very long time now. Inspite of having so many competitors, this vehicle has been able to carve a niche for itself and has efficiently battled with the rest of the hatches. The mere appearance of this car separates it from others. Lately, there were anticipations of Wagon R to be introduced with an AMT facility. As per a recent report in Team-BHP, the reports appear to become true soon.

In the lineup, the VXi trim is going to be fitted with an AMT facility. In fact, the spy images suggests that even the LXi trim could get the same transmission. Along with this, the Auto Gear Shift badge is likely to be introduced by the automaker just like other offerings.

Mechanically, there won't be any changes in the configuration. This means, it would continue to be packed with the same 998 cc three-cylinder petrol motor that will be coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox. This setup generates 67Bhp of maximum power along with 90Nm of peak torque. The AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) unit could possibly belong to the Magneti Marelli. The same system is fitted inside Alto K10 model.
