Ahead of getting embarked at the Farnkfurt Motor Show in this ongoing year, the Mercedes A Class facelift has been confirmed by the MB Passion to get Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility with the COMAND infotainment system. Previously, the C Class facelift was expected to be the first one to include the smartphone integration services. The current C Class has already been debuted at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show with Apple CarPlay alongside iPhone compatibility and the COMAND infotainment system.
Via connecting the iPhone, the owner of the vehicle can easily see his/her messages on the infotainment system as well as can avail more features of this device, such as music streaming, navigation and Siri through Apple iOS. The same path will be followed by the MirrorLink compatible Android phones.
Whereas, the Mercedes A Class facelift will go on sale in the German markets on September 26 in the current year, it will be launched sometime in the next year in India. Reportedly, the manufacturer will sell out this vehicle in the same A180 petrol, A180 CDI and A200 CDI diesel variants. Paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, it will be powered by a 1.6 litre petrol and a 2.2 litre diesel engines, respectively.
Other features will be introduced in the form of a new grille, front bumper graphics, redesigned headlights and mildly tweaked alloy wheels. Its interior will be equipped with new instrument panel, including 12 color 'mood lighting' LEDs, latest steering wheel, free standing display, a WiFi hotspot and infotainment system with 'Connect Me' function.
