Mercedes-Benz India has officially announced that the performance oriented C-Class AMG C 43 will go on sale on this December 14, 2016, across the country. This is the 13th new launch in India by the brand in this calendar year, however, Mercedes planned for 12 vehicles.
The German luxury carmaker, Mercedes is the highest ranking luxury car brand across the country with its large portfolio and to further expand it, the company will soon come up with another track-focused variant. The yet-to-be-launched C-Class AMG C 43 will be slotted after the range-topping C 63 and will the entry level AMG model of C-Class. The more accessible C-Class AMG gets twin-turbo V6 under the hood, instead of the immersive V8 that does duty on the range-topping C 63. Also, it also misses front arches that enhance aggressiveness on the C 63, however, it gets all the AMG blessed features.
Mercedes-Benz India unveiled AMG C 43 back in February this year and all the details had been out. At the event, Mercedes-AMG Chairman Tobias Moers said, “The extension of the C-class family to include the C 43 4Matic Coupe is another component in our growth strategy. It starts the introduction of a whole series of new 43 models.” The C 43 Coupe is quick and attains 100 kmph from a standstill in a decent 4.7 seconds while the top speed has been limited to 250 km/h.
Under the hood, the AMG C 43 Coupe comes fitted with a 3.0-litre twin-Turbo V6 petrol engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 362 bhp. The motor is paired to a 9-speed transmission. The same underhood configuration serves the C 450 AMG and the GLE 450 AMG models. The new gearbox has also been modified for 4Matic 39:61 split all-wheel-drive system, making it more convenient while shifting gears. For effortless driving, the C 43 Coupe offers three driving modes, namely, Sport, Comfort and Sports Plus.
On the exteriors, the entry level AMG C43 gets new front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels and spectacular grill inserts. Inside, it is decorated with amazing graphic package along with premium upholstery and instrument panel. The flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel also comes equipped with value added features.
