Motorbike Safety in Your Hands; Precautions for Coming Winter Season

The winters are arriving and the breeze is talking a lot about the disastrous effects over the health of ride and the rider both. Keeping the vehicle ready for the season is must to do thing and we must bring them in our routine so as that our machines won’t produce any trouble while moving. The winters name is enough to freeze half of the equipments, while the rest gets it from the carelessness. The timely servicing and checkup would keep the throttle stretched and pistons pumping, but we must account for some vital issues as under.

Engine oil replacement

The engine oil is the responsible factor for the smooth functioning of the pistons in cylinders. The sustaining power should be strong enough to fight against supersonic speed of crank’s rotation. Under such condition the timely replacement of the oil is a much needed thing. The winters effect over it abruptly if the replacement is not periodic.

Choke use

The rider should use the choke during the first ignition of the day. This warms up the engine and allows the oil to lap over each part of the engine for gentle functioning of the same.

Air filter / oil filter

The air filter and oil filter commands for the proper flow of air and oil in the engine. The air gets mixed with the fuel gas to enter into the engine’s combustion chamber. Before entering the engine, the air needs to be clean and sans dust and dirt. For this, the air filter should be replaced as per the intervals decided by the manufacturer.

Oil filters perform the job to remove the dust and dirt from the engine oil so that the motion of cylinders won’t be affected due to some external squalor. The replacement of oil filter will place proper cooling to the engine as well as chocking the gap between piston and the inner wall of the cylinder. Thus they must also be changed periodically.

Paint polish

The weather leaves some bad effects over the vehicle’s painted surface. The summers take out the glaze of the paint while winters produce cracks over it. It is a physical property of most of the objects that they contract during the cold atmosphere and same goes with the motorbike’s paints. They must be polished thoroughly and vehicle should be kept covered when not in use.

Tyre polish

As the painted surface contracts in winter season, the tyres also become rough and dry when kept unused for long. The special polishing material should be applied over them to retain the grip and softness of the rubber.
