New Ford Figo Hatchback Probably to Arrive in India Early 2016

As we already know that Ford India is making a way for its two superbly designed models with the name of Figo Aspire compact sedan and the Endeavour shortly in this ongoing year and apart from these products, it is also aggressively working on the next generation Figo hatchback, which is likely to be launched early next year. The automatic variant of this runabout has been seen while testing on the Indian ways with amazing updated visual components. However, its mechanical features are also expected to get some noteworthy renovations.

While, the manufacturer is gearing up to launch this car in India by the next financial year, it is already running on the Brazilian roads with an identity of the Ford Ka. Reportedly, the new Ford Figo hatchback's production has been commenced from the second month of this current year at the brand's Gujrat based manufacturing unit. It will be designed on the same platform, which also underpins its ongoing variant, while inheriting fewer styling properties from the most awaited Aspire sedan.

On the outside, the vehicle will bear trapezoidal honeycomb grille, stout boot lid, swept back headlamp and an integrated spoiler. Inside the cabin, this small car is believed to be inspired by the Aspire, including Ford's SYNC voice commanded system with App link, Emergency assistance and side plus curtain airbags. Its regular version is about to get a small steel wheels, black body fittings and one side mirror.

Mechanically, the upcoming Figo is anticipated to be continued with the same powertrain as its existing variant with a 1.2 litre four cylinder Ti-VCT petrol engine, apart from comprising a new cylinder head and peripherals. The predecessor model is good for making a standard power of 70.02 bhp and a peak torque of 102 Nm.

On the other hand, the present 1.4 litre Duratorq diesel mill is likely to be replaced by the latest 1.5 litre Duratorq engine as the EcoSport and Fiesta sedan. This new forthcoming hatchback will take on the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Bolt and Maruti Swift.
