New Honda CB Hornet 160R Showcased in India, Launch Soon

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has unveiled its brand new 160cc motorcycle, CB Hornet 160R, at Revfest event that was held yesterday in the 8 cities of the country. The new motorcycle has been placed in the premium segment to target the youth generation as Hornet 160R is a faster, smarter and sportier motorcycle. Details of the Hornet 160R are still hidden that would take place soon on the specification sheet, and even the price has not been announced. Moreover, the CB Hornet is a successor of the Honda's low selling CB Twister that failed to win the hearts of the youth. The CB Twister would get minor cosmetic treatments by later this year.

The new Honda CB Hornet 160R gets sportier and muscular styling which is inspired by the CX-01 concept that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The design and body cues carry sharp headlight cluster, black visor and LED digital instrument cluster. It has a sharp fuel tank that gets a carbon fiber finish, Honda's Wing emblem and air shrouds on the either side. It has a step-up seat and nicely position handlebar that will give an upright sitting position to the riders. The motorcycle is featured with clear lens indicators, a new X-Shaped LED tail light and exhaust muffler.

Coming to other performing elements, the bike comes featured with front telescopic forks and a rear monoshock suspension, whereas the braking duties are taken care by a front and rear disc brakes along with Honda’s Combi-Braking System (CBS). It gets 17-inch alloy wheels and a wide 140/70-R17 rear tyre.

From the technical side, the manufacturer has not released any details regarding its new motorcycle, but it is expected that the 160cc motorcycle will be used air-cooled, single-cylinder and 160cc engine displacement that also power the Unicorn 160. The manufacturer could be tuned the motor of Hornet 160R to enhance the power output as well as mileage. The Honda would be positioned the new Honda CB Hornet 160R above the CB Unicorn 160. The motorcycle will compete with the rivals of the segment that includes Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ and Bajaj Pulsar AS 150.
