Next Generation Honda Brio to Get a Diesel Engine

Since the launch of Honda Mobilio a couple of months back, the Japanese manufacturer is dealing with big sales volumes. Before Mobilio, Company's first diesel car, that is Honda Amaze lured a lot of people and now it seems that the car maker has decided to capitalize on the same concept. The belief of this news comes from a source, according to which the Honda is developing a diesel engine for its not so popular Honda Brio petrol car. With this diesel engine re-form, the car is supposed to take the flag against the Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki's growing reign in India.

However, this new diesel engine won't be a newly developed mill, but a trimmed version of the already in use 4-cylinder 1.5 Litre diesel engine, which is getting used by the Honda City, Amaze and Mobilio MPV. Now, Brio will get the same engine with one less cylinder and 1.2 Litre capacity and hence an ideal power house for a hatchback car. The engine will also get worked done for the optimized fuel efficiency to stiff the competition.

The reason to adopt a diesel engine for the Brio is to make this car able to snatch a few sales deals from the top-selling mules like Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Maruti Suzuki Swift and other cars too. The price of this car is expected to fall between INR 4-6 Lac Ex-Showroom and the launch date could lie in the year 2017.
