Next Generation Mercedes E Class to offer Automatic Pilot Parking

Mercedes has recently released a video clip showcasing the all new automatic pilot parking in the next Generation E class model. The video explains how you can park your E Class with the help of a smartphone application. It shows a man who gets out of the car and opens up the app and initiates the instruction, the car parks itself accordingly. You can direct the car to move in any desired direction with your phone acting as a remote. This innovative feature has been introduced to avoid the problems faced by people in door-to-door parking system.

Apart from this, the car maker has introduced other unique and hi-tech features in the upcoming E Class, known as 'Car-to-X'. So far, this is the first mass production vehicle to introduce such a technology. It is a communication system that enables cars to communicate with each other. It prevents collision situations when the driver is unable to see vehicle appearing close from a distance especially in tight bends.

Besides these, there are numerous features available like Active Brake Assist, Pre-Safe Plus, Evasive Steering Assist, Attention Assist and beltbag. These have been borrowed from Mercedes S Class after certain upgradations. There might be an optional 'Driver Assistance Package' which will offer various semi-automatic features. Reportedly, the LED headlights and tail lamps will be designed in such a way that the driver as well as other users on the road do not get dazzled by those lights.

The next generation E class is likely to be launched in India during the late 2016 or early 2017. However, the automatic pilot parking feature might not be equipped in the Indian spec version.
