The Volkswagen has already launched its Passat in India, but this car has not got very good response and it has been defeated against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Santa Fe. This new generation model is anticipated to arrive sometime next year in the country with the replacement of existing one. After debuting at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, now VW has made its global appearance at the Volkswagen Das Event in Malaysia. Based on MQB platform, the Passate B8 will save up to 85 kg of weight and will be lower as well as wider regarding its outgoing version.
This runabout comprises noteworthy interior variations including a flat bottomed steering wheel, color coordinated dashboard inserts alongside rectangular AC vents that render aristocratic feeling for its occupants. The VW Passat sedan is powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder TDI diesel engine, which produces stunning power of 240 PS and tremendous torque of 500 Nm to bestow an enthusiastic driving. Its produced power is transferred to all four wheels through an automatic transmission and 4MOTION all wheel drive system of the company.
Due to its reduced weight, this vehicle will also adduce more fervor fuel efficiency and zealous performance with regard to the current one. The upcoming Passat will give tremendous competition to 2015 Honda CR-V, Octavia vRS and will be priced between INR 20-25 Lacs in the Indian automobile market.
