Renault Kwid Unpacked in India

First time in history, the French automobile manufacturer, Renault has made the global debut of its any car outside the European countries as it has unveiled today the Kwid (codenamed as XBA) small runabout in India. This vehicle will undergo production at the joint ventured plant of Renault-Nissan in Oragadam, Chennai and will go on sale in our country in the second half of this ongoing year between the expected price of INR 3 Lac to INR 4 Lac.

As we have previously told you that via launching this car, the company will bring a new option for the city customers, who need a rough and tough vehicle for daily use purpose, so the low budget cars, including Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 should get geared up to take a serious challenge from the Kwid.

According to the brand's statement, it is a magnificent package for the customers that packs impressive things, such as charming look, comfortable cabin and innovative features in the inexpensive range. Just like the upcoming runabout from Datsun, the Renault Kwid is based on the modular CMF-A platform and receives captivating exterior with dual slat grille, sweptback headlamps, side cladding, manually operated outside rear view mirrors and 13 or 14 inch alloy wheels.

Notably, it has high ground clearance, which will make this hatchback capable to tackle the unpaved road easily. Inside, the mini model comprises MediaNAV with navigation functions, radio and Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, Renault offers a 7 inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, chrome air vents and optional driver side airbag. Power comes from a new 0.8 litre three cylinder petrol engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
