2018 Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF Launched with New Color Scheme

Updated its Gixxer range of motorcycles which includes the most selling naked roadster, Gixxer and its full fairing iteration, the Gixxer SF, Suzuki Motorcycles has rolled out the 2018 calendar year models of the mentioned models. The pricing for these next year models retained similar to the earlier models owing to the bikes attain single update of the colour scheme. Now being offered in a two-tone Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic Sonic Silver paint scheme with white graphic, the 2018 Gixxer is available at INR 80,928 (ex-showroom Delhi) whereas to purchase the new Gixxer SF model with the “Ecstar” logo you have to spend the sum of INR 90,037(ex-showroom, Delhi).

As mentioned earlier, both the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF models get the colour update, though bikes are sharing the similar 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted motor from the previous models. The churned out power figures are also identical to 14.8PS at 8000rpm and 14Nm at 6000rpm. Besides, the brand also endows a fuel injected iteration of the Gixxer SF model with the similar powertrain. The mill is capable of generating the same above mentioned power figures but in a more refined and fuel-efficient way.

The prominent cycle part, Brakes are offered in the pair of front disc and rear drum on both bikes’ standard variant. But, the top end variants of the same come blessed with rear disc brake setup. Furthermore, the aids of a single-channel ABS is also being given by the bikemaker on the top-specs model.

Speaking on the launch, Mr Sajeev Rajasekharan, Executive Vice President for sales and marketing, said, “Gixxer is the perfect embodiment of sportiness and the spirit of youthfulness that the brand stands for. As a product, both the Gixxer and Gixxer SF are known to be meant for those who believe in riding ahead of the pack; and are a benchmark for the segment.”

As claimed by the Suzuki, both the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF models have been in the top ranks in Motorcycle Upper Executive Segment in Initial Quality Survey (IQS) for the past three years. Other than this, the bikes also top-ranked in the Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study by JD Power India for 2015 and 2017.

As expected, these new models will mark their presence at the authorised dealerships across India in coming time.
