The well-known domestic carmaker, Tata Motors is all set to launch its premium SUV, Tata Hexa in the Indian market. The SUv has already been spied under heavy camouflage during testing rounds. Tata motors has not left a single stone to make this SUVm the much anticipated launch for the Indian market. In Pune, three test mules of this car have already been spied on different occasions. So, it gives us a slight hint that the production-ready Hexa is slated for early launch this year.
Tata Hexa made its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as the prototype model and later the car was seen at the 2016 Auto Expo in a production-ready attire. Very few changes were seen on the design philosophy of this premium SUV. Post launch, the SUV is likely to go rivalry with the Mahindra XUV500.
Talking about the engine specifications, the SUV comes with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder VARICOR diesel motor also powers the new Safari Storme. The engine effectively delivers a maximum power of 154 bhp and 400Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the rear with the help of a 6-speed manual gearbox, while AWD will be optional.
Tata Hexa wears a new design philosophy with more stylish flow and bold outlook. The front fascia gets aggressive projector headlamps covered by LED DRLs. Tata Hexa is also decorated with additional accessories such as sporty alloy wheels, plastic wheel cladding, and long roof rails, as seen in the Auto Expo 2016. Dimensionally, the Hexa measures 4764mm in length, 1895mm in width and 1780mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2850mm. Overall, the SUV offers a generous space.
The interior of this 7-seater SUV is equipped with value added features and luxury equipments. The interior decoration has been taken care with the company’s latest designing options such as 3-spoke steering, electronically adjustable driver seats and a touch screen infotainment system.
The car also features a Terrain Management System which is quite similar to the Land Rover SUVs. Tata Hexa is likely to come with a price tag of 13 lakh to 18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), Tata’s flagship SUV.
